Book Online

Pick a time on Square. Card held at booking, charged at the end of your session. One-day minimum lead time. If you have a complex build — full plate, LED elements, a costume that needs two people to assemble — drop a quick note in the booking or email me beforehand so I can set the studio up right.

Show Up in Costume

Come dressed. Bring weapons, props, accessories, and anyone who helps you suit up. Two hours covers full-length, portrait, three-quarter, detail shots — and everything in between. We work it out on the day.

"I'm not a model. I don't know how to pose."

You don't need to. Posing direction is part of what the session includes — I'll tell you where to look, how to hold the weapon, when to shift weight. If you fight or perform in that costume, I'll use that. Movement-based direction works better than "stand here" anyway.

"My costume isn't 'professional' enough for a studio shoot."

There is no threshold. A foam-and-craft-store build shot well looks better than a $3,000 commission shot on a phone. If you care about the costume, I can make it look like it deserves. That's the whole point of controlled light.

"What if I need help getting into armor?"

Bring whoever helps you suit up. Squires, helpers, friends — all welcome on-site at no extra charge. Armoring time is included in the 2 hours, not added on top. If you have a complex build, let me know beforehand so we can plan the session flow.

"I have more than one costume."

Up to two looks are included. Two hours is enough to give each real time — we're not rushing through setups. If you have more than two, book a second session for the full treatment.

"Can I bring weapons and props?"

Yes. Swords, staves, bows, wands, instruments, fire props (unlit), shields, banners — bring everything your character uses. Props make photos better. The only ask: don't swing sharp things near the light stands.

"What if the photos aren't what I expected?"

That's what the guarantee is for. If you don't walk away with at least 20 photos you're genuinely proud of, email me and I'll book a free reshoot. To invoke it: just reach out to jason@starfallstudiosseattle.com. No forms, no negotiation.

"What's the cancellation policy?"

More than 72 hours before your session: full refund. 24 to 72 hours before: studio credit. Less than 24 hours or no-show: non-refundable. Same policy as every other Starfall booking.

"Can you shoot a group — a whole Ren Faire cast?"

Groups are a different setup and a custom quote. DM @starfallseattle or email jason@starfallstudiosseattle.com and I'll put something together.

"Can I buy more than 20 photos if I want them all?"

Yes. The session includes 20 final retouched images, but if you want additional selects from the shoot, we can work that out. Ask at the end of the session and I'll quote you on the spot.

"I shoot LARP — does this work for foam armor and fantasy builds?"

Absolutely. LARP builds, foam armor, fantasy cosplay, theatrical costume — all of it works in a controlled studio environment. If anything, softer materials and bright colors photograph better indoors than they do at an outdoor event.

"Can you shoot black and white, or specific lighting styles?"

Yes to both. If you have a specific mood in mind — high-contrast black and white, dramatic shadows, soft and cinematic — tell me when you book or at the start of the session. That's what the lighting setup is for.

"My costume includes a full helmet or mask — my face isn't visible. Can you still make it work?"

This is one of my favorite scenarios. When there's no face to direct, composition and light do all the work — posture, stance, silhouette, detail. I'll adjust the approach accordingly. Let me know in advance so I can plan the setup around the costume's specific shape and material.

"Where do I park? How do I get there in costume?"

The studio is at 4435 35th Ave SW, West Seattle. Street parking is available directly in front of the building and on nearby blocks — free and typically easy to find. If you're arriving in full armor or with a large prop kit, pull up to the front entrance and unload there before parking. The studio is ground level, easy to access.
