Jason — Starfall Studios
The Person Behind the Lens

Hey, I'm Jason.

45 five-star reviews · 8 years in tech before the camera · Starfall Studios founder

45 five-star Google reviews. Every one earned.
8 years in tech — Lockheed Martin + Xbox/Microsoft.
Every project personally handled. No outsourcing, no second shooter you've never met.

I built Starfall Studios because Seattle needed a creative space that actually felt welcoming — for photographers renting time, musicians playing to a lens, models looking for a collaborative shoot, and creators who just need a great-looking background.

I handle all photo and video work personally. Every project gets the same level of attention: careful, intentional, and built around what you actually need.

The Story

Why I Left Tech to Build Starfall

Before

For eight years I built software and managed programs — five years at Lockheed Martin writing code that actually shipped, three more at Xbox running programs across design, engineering, and launch. I was good at it. But I was spending my evenings and weekends behind a camera, not a keyboard.

The Turning Point

In 2021, I walked out of my last tech job knowing I wasn't going back. I'd been shooting road trips, live events, new hobbies — anything that moved — and I was good enough that people started paying me. The moment I said yes to my first paid shoot, the question stopped being "can I do this?" and started being "what does doing this seriously actually look like?"

After

After years of setting up lights in my kitchen and tearing them down after every shoot, I hit a wall. I wanted a space where I could leave everything up and just keep working. A studio I'd actually want to book if I were the client.

Starfall is that space — built for photographers and videographers who need a fully-loaded, highly customizable studio without the friction. Gear included, drink bar stocked, and someone knowledgeable on-site every session. We opened in March 2026 with Meet Me In The Pit — a sold-out clown-themed party with 10 performers, a balloon pit, and over 2,000 balloons. The energy that night is exactly what this place is supposed to feel like.

Sold-Out Opening Event

Starfall opened March 2026 with a fully sold-out event — 10 clown performers, 2,000+ balloons, community packed wall to wall. Not a soft launch. A statement.

Wide Range of Subjects, One Standard

Corporate galas, fire performers, city council, live music, boudoir, aerial arts, brand launches. The subject changes. The care doesn't.

8 Years in Tech

Program Manager at Xbox/Microsoft. Software Developer at Lockheed Martin (5 years). That background isn't decoration — it's why I plan shoots like projects, communicate like a teammate, and deliver like someone who's been on the other side of a deadline.

🤝

Personally Handles Every Project

No associates, no outsourcing. When you book Starfall Studios, you get me on every shoot, every edit, every delivery. The person you talk to is the person behind the camera.

Behind the Lens

The Work I Love Most

I've shot everything from fire performers in warehouses to city council headshots in a studio. Weddings, comedy shows, aerial arts, corporate galas, product launches — if it involves people doing something they care about, I want to be there with a camera.

The tech background shows up in how I work. I plan shoots like projects, communicate like a teammate, and deliver like someone who's been on the other side of a deadline. You'll get next-day social selects for events and full galleries within 5 business days — edited, licensed, and ready to use.

When I'm not behind the lens, I'm prepping the studio for the next shoot, hosting a community event, or figuring out new ways to make Starfall the kind of space I wish I'd had when I started.

How I Work

What You Actually Get

🎯

Photos Built for Their Purpose

You get images that work — not a template I run everyone through. I ask what the photos are actually for before we shoot. LinkedIn headshot, event coverage, brand content, editorial. The result is intentional, not accidental.

You leave with photos you use immediately

Delivered on Time, Every Time

Eight years in tech taught me what a missed deadline costs. You'll get next-day social selects for events and full galleries within 5 business days — edited, licensed, full-res, and ready to publish. No chasing, no follow-ups.

You're never waiting and wondering
🤝

A Pro Who Knows Your World

I've worked inside corporate environments at scale — program management at Xbox, software delivery at Lockheed. I know what a brand launch looks like from the inside, what a corporate event actually needs, and what an executive headshot is really for.
